Baked Alaska Recipe
Ingredients:
4 pcs of chiffon or sponge cake shell
4 large scoops of sherbet (any flavor)
3 pcs of egg-whites
6 Tbsps of sugar (white)
1/4 tsp of cream of tartar powder (McCormick)
1/2 tsps of pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
Place the shells on a baking sheet and place sherbet on top. Place in the freezer.
Beat the egg-whites and cream of tartar till frothy. Slowly add sugar while beating continuously. When stiff, add vanilla and blend well.
Cover the frozen cake with the meringue, completely covering it including sides and bottom. Keep in the freezer till needed.
Preheat grill for ten mins then bake cake on moderately low heat, cover is down, for 3-5 mins or till meringue has browned then serve right away.
